SEO in the Age of AI – My Interview on beachtenswert.info

⚡️ TL;DR

AI is an Assistant, not an Expert: It helps with analysis and structure, but E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness) comes exclusively from humans.

Humanity Wins: Google’s Helpful Content System is the direct response to “soulless” AI content. Authenticity is becoming a ranking factor.

Websites Remain Crucial: They are the “Source of Truth” for AI Overviews. Without us, AIs have nothing to feed on.

New Mantra: The dogma “Content is King” is dead. My reform: “Excellent Experience is King.”

Recently, I had the honor of speaking with Thomas Jan Krajniewski from beachtenswert.info. It was a deep conversation about arguably the most pressing question in our industry: How is Artificial Intelligence changing search engine optimization – and what role do humans play in this new era?

The theme “Human Beats Machine” runs through my entire work. In the interview, which you can find here in full at beachtenswert.info, I was able to explain my stance in detail. For the SEO Kreativ community, I am summarizing the most important key statements here.

The Core Conflict: Helpful Content or Soulless AI Text?

Google constantly talks about the Helpful Content System, while the web is simultaneously being flooded with AI-generated texts. This seems like a contradiction, but it is the logical consequence.

My analysis from the interview is clear: The Helpful Content System is Google’s direct filter against soulless AI content.

“AI-generated text that is only optimized for keywords, without real expertise, real data, and a human perspective, is soulless content. This is exactly what Google intends to filter out with the Helpful Content System.”

It’s no longer about whether content exists, but what expertise (E-E-A-T) it demonstrably conveys.

My Stance: AI is an Assistant, not an Expert

The biggest fear of many SEOs is being replaced by AI. I do not share this concern. My stance on this is nuanced: AI is an extremely powerful assistant, but never the expert.

Where AI supports us massively

In the interview, I emphasized that AI helps us fantastically with analysis and structuring. It is a tool that frees us from repetitive tasks.

The clear strengths of AI as an assistant include:

  • Data collection and processing
  • Structuring topic clusters
  • Entity extraction
  • Long-tail research and keyword analysis

Where human expertise remains irreplaceable

The limit of AI is reached where synthesis, stance, and real experience begin. These are the core components of E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness).

“The line is very clear: AI is the perfect assistant, but never the expert. Your expertise is the input the AI should process, not the output you adopt unchecked.”

Humanity, experience, and a clear stance cannot be simulated. They are the decisive factors for helpful content.

The Future of SEO: Why Websites Are Becoming the “Source of Truth”

Another central question in the conversation was the future of AI Overviews and the fear that users will no longer leave Google.

Here, too, I see no apocalypse, but an evolution. AIs aggregate knowledge, but they do not create it. They require a reliable knowledge base to generate their answers.

“Websites are becoming an indispensable knowledge base.”

Our role as SEOs is changing. We are becoming “content engineers” who prepare facts in such a structured, proven, and semantically perfect way that the AI *must* choose our content as the “Source of Truth.”

My Plea: “Excellent Experience is King”

The old SEO dogma “Content is King” has had its day. It is responsible for the mass of soulless content that Google is now taking action against.

In the interview, I explained why I am reforming this mantra:

“My reform would be: ‘Excellent Experience is King.’

It’s no longer about writing *more*, but writing *better*. It’s about real utility, demonstrable expertise, and a user experience that puts the user at the center – not the algorithm.

Conclusion: Human Beats Machine

These points are just an excerpt from a very intense conversation. We also talked about the role of transparency, the psychology behind search intent, and my path from an engineering firm to SEO.

I would like to thank Thomas Jan Krajniewski for the excellent questions and the opportunity for this exchange.
